Public house. c1865. Stucco and roughcast, graduated slate roofs. 2 and 3 storeys, 2:3:1 bays to Dalton Road; canted right end faces Duke Street and Burlington Street. Dalton Road front: channel-rusticated ground floor. Doorways to bays 2 & 4 have round arches with pendent keystones; paired 4-pane sashes to bay 1, single 4-pane sash to bay 3 and broad casement to bay 5 all with segmental arches and pendent keystones. Angled corner entrance to right has doorcase with round arch, spandrel panels and dentilled cornice. 1st floor: shaped blocks and sill band to broader 4-pane sashes as before. Smaller 2nd floor windows on right are in same style but without keystones. Wooden cornice incorporates ogee, cast-iron gutter. Corniced stacks on left end, to front slope on right of bay 2 and between bays 4 & 5. Right end of roof hipped. Right return: doorway cornice continues over broad window with pilasters; another large window to Burlington Street.
