GV II

House, now offices, with steps and railings. c1825. Ashlar with rubble right return gable; roof thin stone slates with stone gable copings, ridge and chimneys. Steps ashlar with ashlar coping on coursed stone walls; front walls stone with ashlar coping and ashlar piers. Railings wrought-iron. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and basement; symmetrical 2-window range. Channelled rustication above basement to entire front and to right return, which projects from adjacent house. Steps up to central partly-glazed 6-panel door in surround with panelled pilasters and lintel, corner paterae, and cornice. Projecting plain stone surrounds to plain sashes on each floor except basement where there are flat stone lintels to window and to plain door at right. Roof has plain gable copings and end chimneys. Right return has single sash on each floor and smaller sash in front of gable, all in plain stone surrounds. INTERIOR: not inspected. Steps and low walls have plain coping; simple railings have spike heads; small square gate piers to steps and to basement entrance have channelled rustication and low pyramidal coping.
