GV II
House, now garage and flat. Probably c1760, with mid C19 alterations. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings; roof of thin stone slates with stone gable coping and stone chimney. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Ground floor has renewed glazed door and overlight at right under flat stone lintel; at left, wide vehicle entrance. c1960 shop front with full-width fascia. First floor has flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills to 3 sashes with glazing bars. Eaves parapet with flat stone coping above moulded gutter cornice; moulded rain-water head between second and third windows. Roof has central and right end ridge chimneys with plinths and bands. Possibly built as service wing for No.21, Startforth House (qv).
