Terrace of 10 town houses. 1840s, altered. Red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and slate roof. Double-depth plan, each house single-fronted, with individual back extensions. Late Georgian style. Two storeys over cellars, a 20-window facade with sandstone plinth, 1st-floor sill-band, plain frieze and moulded gutter cornice. Each house has a wide elliptical-arched doorway to the left, up steps, with a set-in doorcase of three-quarter columns (Nos.9 and 10 Ionic, the others Roman Doric) with frieze and cornice, and fanlight with radiating glazing bars (except at Nos 11 and 16, which have altered glazing). The windows have raised sills and wedge lintels, those at Nos 9, 13 and 15 mostly 12-pane sashes (No.9 also has a 4-pane sash at ground floor and a 16-pane sash at 1st floor), those at Nos 14 and 17 sashed without glazing bars, and all the others with altered glazing. Chimneys on front and rear slopes. Rear and INTERIORS not inspected.
