ST3414 SILVER STREET 1939-1/6/108 (South side) 29/07/76 No.39 (Formerly Listed as: SILVER STREET (South side) No.39 Gayware)
GV II
House, now 2 shops. Late C18, altered late C19. Ham Hill stone ashlar facade, Flemish-bond brick to the rest; slate roof with stepped stone copings and moulded kneelers, brick stacks to gable ends. Double-depth plan with rear range to the left. 3 storeys; 2-window range. Original house had keystones and platbands between floors, the lower one is now lost behind a late C19 shop front. This has a fanlight over set-back central C20 doors; plate-glass windows between colonnettes with moulded tops; panelled pilasters support gabled consoles which flank the moulded cornice. This has been shaped to support 2 projecting canted bays on the first floor, with 2/2-pane sashes and moulded cornices. The second floor has two 2/2-pane sashes. INTERIOR: All remaining features are late C19, including 4-panel doors and fireplaces.
