Terrace of linked semi-detached villas. c. 1845. Yellow stock bricks set in Flemish bond with stucco ground-floor lined as ashlar and with stucco dressings; slate hipped roof with projecting eaves and brick centre-stacks. Side-hall entrance plan with staircase. Neoclassical style. Three storeys, 2 windows each plus 1 window to 1st floor over recessed linking entrance bay (irregular in design & detail & many probably added late C19/early C20.) Two-storey full-height stucco pilasters to upper floors carrying entablature with projecting eaves cornice. Steps rise to paired recessed entrances in outer bays; entrance with moulded cornice and separated by stylised rounded pilaster with patera to top (nos. 22 & 44 entrances of different design and with plain piers); doorway with flanking pilasters carrying corniced-head, rectangular overlight and original 4-panelled studded door. 6/6 sashes throughout (except over entrance & no.24 with full-length 4/4 sashes to 1st floor, no. 34 with 1/1 C20 sashes): no. 24 with cast iron window guards to ground-floor; gauged brick flat arches to upper floors. 1st floor stucco storey band & sashes with cast iron window guards in floral pattern (no. 24 with balconies). Stucco entablature with plain band, projecting cornice and nos. 22-24 with parapet surmounted by stone coping. Iron railings to front walls of nos. 24-44 (inclusive); to basement area beside entrances of nos. 30, 32 and 34; and as covering over basement area of No. 42. Interiors not inspected, but said to retain original features. (Islington Council: Local List: 1970-).
