Terrace of 8 houses, now shops. 1762, completed c1800. By Thomas Paty, rebuilt c1950. Limestone ashlar with party wall stacks, and pantile mansards. Double-depth plan. Mid Georgian style. Each of 3 storeys and attic; 3-window range. A stepped terrace with pilasters, cornice and parapet. C20 shop fronts. Mid C19 shop front to No.81, 3 semicircular arches with round columns to Romanesque carved capitals, rails between and rosettes to the archivolts, and Nos 87 & 89, panelled ground-floor pilasters and a fascia, with cast-iron stanchions to plate glass. 6/6-pane sashes to right-hand 3, plate-glass the rest. INTERIOR not inspected. Built over 40 years, severely damaged during the Second World War, and largely rebuilt in facsimile afterwards. Included for group value.
