Pair of attached houses. c1780. Stucco with limestone
dressings, party wall stacks and a pantile roof. Double-depth
plan. Late Georgian style. Each of 3 storeys, attic and
basement; 2-window range. A symmetrical front has a moulded
coping to No.25; large C20 doorcase over paired doorways has
outer attached columns and entablature blocks with triglyphs
to a steep pediment, batswing fanlights, and 6-panel doors
with the bottom pair flush and the upper ones glazed.
Tripartite ground- and outer first-floor windows have 2/2-pane
sashes with margin panes, 6/6-panes inner windows set
together, and a single C20 dormer to each. INTERIOR: entrance
hall with an open winder dogleg stair to the front with uncut
string, stick balusters, column newels and a ramped rail;
panelled door reveals and 6-panel doors, panelled shutters and
dados. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached wrought-iron basement
area gates and railings.
