Former ship supplies warehouse, now flats. 1870. By RG Smith.
Restored and converted c1989. Brick with renewed slate roofs.
Mansard roofed end pavilions with hipped lead-topped roofs and
finials. Coped side wall stack with 2 round flues. Deep blind
basement, moulded brick eaves with machicolations and ashlar
kneelers. 5 storeys plus attics; 9-window range. L-plan.
Slightly projecting end bays, 2 windows. Windows are mainly
segment-headed metal glazing bar casements, those to the
fourth floor smaller. River front has a central bay with a
glazed-in loft door on each floor. On the fourth floor, a
balcony on steel brackets, with a hipped mansard roof. On
either side, 2 pairs of tall recesses with central pilasters,
each with 2 windows on each floor. On the fourth floor, on
either side, 4 windows. Attic storey has a mansard roofed
pavilion at each end, with 2 hipped dormers with 6-pane
casements. Right return has 3 windows on each floor. Left
return, 3 windows, has blind fourth floor and ground floor has
2 segmental pointed recesses, each with 2 windows. Angled
corner to right has a single small window. Gabled rear wing
has 3 windows on each floor.
