Founded C12 (first chaplain 1157). Present structure c1400 with alterations C16, repairs C18. Chancel and part of nave with transepts. Chamfered plinth. 2-bay chancel has large 5-light perpendicular E window, diagonal E buttresses, and part of C13 keeled shaft re-used in buttress stump on S side. Big canted transepts with 3 lights in all 5 sides except E with plinth and sill and hood strings. One-bay nave has west elevation with blocked high round C16 arch; within this a lower C18 round-headed door with Gibbs surround below 3-light mullion and transom window with cusping. Heraldic devices probably of second half of C16 within and outside this arch, flanked by shallow pilasters of same moulding as arch, probably reused, to low-pitched gable. Roof removed. INTERIOR: shows early C15 piscina and N and S blocked doors to chancel; blocked, square headed mullioned window in S chancel wall; high round C16 arches to transepts. Scheduled Ancient Monument.
