Mausoleum. Mid C18. For Henry Thompson of Kirby Hall (d.1760). Sandstone ashlar with lead roof. Rotunda encircled by attached Greek Doric colonnade with triglyph frieze and cornice, supporting plain drum and ribbed domed roof. Doorway to east sealed by inscribed memorial slab recording names of those interred within. Inscription reads:
HOC IN MAUSOLEO
IACENT SEPULTI
HI QUORUM SUBTUS
INSCRIBUNTUR NOMINA
Doorway in architrave with pulvinated frieze and cornice beneath raised rectangular panel inscribed:
HENRICUS THOMPSON
SIBI ET SUIS
