13/85 Courtyard walls and - out-building east of Blithfield Hall
GV II
Walls and outbuilding. Early C19. Brick, plastered and lined as ashlar. A roughly rectangular courtyard is defined by north, south and east walls, an outbuilding in the north-east corner, and by Blithfield Hall (q.v.) to the west; the entrance from the outer courtyard is in the south wall. South front: Buttresses flank a central 4-centred carriage arch with crenellated parapet: slightly lower crenellated walls to left and right each with 4-centred doorways flanked by buttresses. North wall and outbuilding (from the South) Carriage arch to right of centre with raised key and plain parapet, flanked by: wall to left apparently of 2 storeys and 1:1:1 bays, and outbuilding to right of 2 storeys, the ground floor blind, both have first-floor window sill bands and moulded string to crenellated parapet; rectangular louvred windows to outbuilding, outer bays of wall have lancets and central recessed bay 4-light windows with square heads and returned hood mould.
