House and warehouse, now three shops and two flats. Mid C18, altered. Red brick in header bond with brighter-red brick dressings; right-hand bay weatherboard. Plain tile roof. Three storeys, 6:1 bays the right-hand bay a loading bay. Late-C20 shop fronts, that on right earlier C20 with fluted brackets flanking fascia.
Main range: sashes with thick glazing bars and exposed boxes with flat brick arches and wooden sills, the two central first-floor windows are early-mid C19 replacements having thinner glazing bars and set in reveals; moulded platband to second floor; eaves band and moulded cornice; boxed gutter. Right-hand bay has a board loading door to upper floors flanked by small-pane windows, now painted in; sign bracket to first floor on left. Hipped roof overall with end stacks.
Rear: first-floor entrances to 71A and 71B; doors and windows C20 apart from two to centre on second floor which have flat brick arches, sash with glazing bars and flush wood architrave to left, a later four-pane sash to right; eaves cornice as front. Left-hand (loading) bay has C20 brick to ground floor, weatherboard above; on first floor a double, board, loading door with doorway to left and four-pane window to right; on second floor, former loading door with sash with glazing bars, and six-pane window on right.
Interior: no 71B has wide dog-leg stair with turned column-on-vase balusters to second floor and columnar newels; moulded spine-beam to first-floor right-hand room.
Late-C20 rear extension not of special interest.
