Skip Bridge carrying Old York Road over River Nidd

Bridge. Early C19. Ashlar. 3 round arches with rounded cut-waters against
2 central piers carried up as pedestrian retreats at road level. Square-
section pilasters on 2 outer piers carried up to coping level. Projecting
band at level of road surface. Shallow pointed coping. The bridge has been
replaced by a modern structure downstream and the old road now serves as a
lay-by. Previously listed in parish of Green Hammerton. The eastern half
of the structure lies in the parish of Wilstrop.
