BILSDALE MIDCABLE SEAVE GREEN NZ 50 SE East side (off) 11/25 Church of St. Hilda 23/6/66 II Parish Church of the ecclesiastical parish of Bilsdale Priory. 1851 by Banks and Barry. Snecked rockfaced sandstone with dressings. Roof of clay tiles with fishscale bands and spiky tiled ridge; overlapped stone copings and stone spirelet. Nave, chancel, south porch and north vestry. West double bellcote under short spire. Lancet style. Bellcote has tall gables facing east and west, and twin bell openings with round spandrel. Little square tower above, then spire. 5-bay nave with chamfered plinth, narrow lancets and corbel table at eaves. West window echoes design of bell openings. Big multi-moulded entrance in south porch. 2-bay chancel with stepped 3-light east window. Interior plastered. Arch-braced timber roof. Big chancel arch, multi-moulded with dogtooth. Raised chancel. Caernarvon arches to vestry doors from chancel and in external wall.
