Possible hall house, now extended and divided. Late-C15, extended to right in late-C18 and to rear in C20. The timber frame (the felling date of which has been established dendrochronology to be 1468-9) is clad in red and blue brick to the front, part white-washed on ground floor, with plain tiled roof, hipped with gablet to left. Two storeys, inserted front stack to left of centre and end stack to right. Irregular fenestration with two casement windows to first floor left of centre and two through-eaves pentice dormers to right. One casement window on each floor of gabled break, projecting to left. Three windows to ground floor. Door to right side of gabled break to left (Ashlea) under pantiled pentice hood on wooden supports. Half-glazed door to centre in "rustic" wood porch with boarded gable (Church Gate Cottage) and half-glazed door to right end in large, open, gabled porch.
