II
Village hall, formerly Congregational Chapel. Dated 1811. Red brick and Welsh slate roof. 1 storey of 2 12-pane windows, that to left top-opening. Similar windows to rear. On right end a door and slate tablet over. Inscription reads, 'FREE CHAPEL, Frustra laborat, qui omnibus placere studet. This House of prayer is set apart,/For all who join in hand and heart,/To worship GOD above:/Where party names shall cease to be,/and all shall join in unity,/To sing redeeming Love. Erected at the expense of George Hudson, A.D. 1811.'
