G.V. II*
House, dated 1692, of red brick, with black pantiles, slate and C20 tiles at rear. Single pile of 2 storeys and attics, with early C19 wings, projecting north towards the road, of single storey, forming 'U' shaped plan. Lean-to addition to west. Facade of 7 windows in 3 bays, outer bays of 2 windows project slightly and have hipped roofs. Brick plinth, rusticated brick quoins and moulded brick platband at first floor level. Central, moulded 2 panel door with moulded timber frame. Gauged brick door surround with brick pilasters, pulvinated frieze and segmental pediment. Early C19 sash windows in original openings with glazing bars. Flat gauged brick arches. Moulded timber eaves, hipped roof and end stacks, partially rebuilt in later C20. Chimney to west bears dated tie irons. First floor windows at rear C18 tran- somed 2-light, with wrought iron casements Sash windows with glazing bars and segmental brick arches. Off centre 5 panelled door in moulded timber frame with segmental brick arch. 2 segmental headed dormers with 2-light casements. Inside, 3 flight C17 stair, with moulded strings urn shaped balusters, and square capped newels. 2 panel doors with moulded timber architraves and over- doors. Pine panelled drawing room, with C17 moulded timber fire surround.
