Details
MEASHAM GALLOWS LANE SK 31 SW 4/37 Measham House II House of late C18. Red brick with brick dentilled eaves, gauged brick lintels, stone sills and hipped slate roof, with 2 ridge stacks. Square plan of 3 storeys, 3 sashes: 4/4, 3/3, 4/4 on 2nd floor; 8/8, 6/6, 8/8, 1st floor; C19 small paned brick bay and 8/8 ground floor. Fine central stone broken pediment Doric columned doorcase, part glazed door and overlight with curved astragals. 3 stone steps. On left side a C20 flat roofed 1-storey extension: On right an 8/8, 8/8, 4/4 sash above each other and projecting stack. Rear similar to front but with ground floor C20 casement and flat roofed 1 storey extension. Interior: oak staircase with thin square balusters and mahogany rail, 6-panelled doors and stone flags to hall. Moulded inglenook beam in kitchen.
