Farmhouse. C17, remodelled late C18 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed, now largely clad or rebuilt in C18 red brick; graded slate roof. T-plan with long hall range to left and cross-wing to right. 2 storeys and gable-lit attics, dentilled eaves cornice to hall range. Framing: visible to back wall of hall range, fragmentary square panels above high brick plinth; thick wall post exposed to centre of cross- wing. 3:1 windows, all early C20 casements with engineering brick cills; segmental heads to ground-floor of hall range and on each floor to cross- wing. Entrance through 4-panel door (top panels glazed) under C20 lean- to porch in angle between hall range and cross-wing. Prominent red brick ridge stack to cross-wing with top rebuilt in C20 brick and small stack in roof slope to left of centre to hall range. Early to mid- C19 wide gabled addition at right-angles to rear of hall range on left. Interior: not inspected but likely to be of interest.
