3/12 Farmhouse at White Farm (formerly listed as 24.11.66 White Farmhouse)

House. C16, rearranged in C18 1'1723' painted above new door on W). Timber frame on flint sill wall with brick corners. Roughcast but red tilehanging banded with scalloped tiles to W wall of wing and E gable. Steep pitched roofs now slated with red tile ridge. Old red brick central chimney with 2 fat diagonal square shafts. A one and a half storeys T-plan house facing S, with hall range, W crosswing, and central chimney at junction of wing, with lobby entrance. Main entrance later moved to middle of W side of wing facing the road. This has a boarded door in a heavy frame flanked by a 3-light and 2-light windows and gabled dormers at the eaves. Sash window with 8/8 panes at E. Interior. Ground floor, West room has very heavy beams, over wide fireplace, and to ceiling. Wide wall posts. Cl7 cupboard in E room. Doors with strap hinges on lugs. Cyma mouldings to architraves, and hand worked panels to doors. First floor. Some floor boards 12 inches wide. Very heavy timbers in framing generally.
