BOMERE HEATH C.P. GRAFTON SJ 41 NW 5/91 Nos. 14 and 15 - - II

Cottage, now divided. Late C16 or early C17, altered in the mid-to late C19. Timber framed with painted brick nogging, partly rebuilt or refaced in painted brick. Plain tile roof. Framing: rectangular panels (2 from sole plate to wall plate) with straight corner braces. Two framed bays. One storey and attic. External brick end stack to left and integral brick corner stack to right at front. 3 gabled dormers with small-paned 2- light wooden casements. 2-windows front; C19 segmental-headed 2-light wooden casement to left and C20 three-light wooden casement to right. Central C20 lean-to porch (left-hand part enclosed) with segmental-headed entrances and slatted window to centre; boarded doors. One-storey late C19 or early C20 lean-to brick additions to left and right. Left-hand gable end has collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts. Interior of right-hand cottage inspected: deep-chamfered ceiling beam with chamfered joists. C17 timber framed dividing wall with blocked arched doorway. Old winder stair.
