House. Circa 1700, little altered. Red brick chequered with blue headers, front painted, exposed timber frame brick nogged in gable triangles, steep old red tile roof. A large, 2-storeys attics and cellar house facing N with tiled C19 lean-to against E end set back. Formerly symmetrical 5 windows wide front with central door, now has 1st window from W on each floor blocked and 2nd window from E on ground floor. Plinth and brick floor-band. Cross windows slightly recessed with lattice leaded glazing. Rustic gabled porch. Blocked 1st floor cross window on E end with soldier-arch of red and blue headers alternately. 2 gabled dormers set high on roof slope with 2-light lattice leaded casements. 2 main rooms on each floor with stair between off entrance lobby. E room larger with rear-wall chimney, served as hall and kitchen. W room with cross-beam and projecting W gable chimney the parlour. (RCHM Typescript).
