2/22 Garden building at The Cedars - (15m to SE of house)

- II

Garden building. Circa 1847 for Thomas Greg as a pumping house and screen wall to Coles Park rebuilt in Elizabethan style in 1847 (demolished). Grey brick and stucco screen wall, red brick and old red tile building on S side. A high castellated screen with giant octagonal pepper-pot turrets at N and S ends with stucco coping to wall and ogee cap with ball finial to each. Single-storey small elaborate building on E with 3 parallel gabled roofs. Twin round-arches to end bays with recessed panel and lunette windows with radial glazing bars. Central round arched doorway with plank double doors flanked by narrow windows. Heavy red brick dentilled cornice and pediments in each gable. Houses pumps and tanks. C20 extension on N side of screen wall not of special interest.
