2/283 Barns and stables about 30m NNE of Newhouse Farm House

Barns. C17 extended C18/C19. Timber frames on brick and flint bases. Weatherboarded. Tiled roofs. 3 bay C17 barn has a central gabled midstrey away from house, opposing double doors. Interior: arched braces from jowled posts to tie beams, queen struts to collars clasping purlins, 1 truss with angled struts, curved braces in walling. Attached to right bay and projecting at right angles towards house a lower C18 2 bay stable range. An entrance with flanking casements to yard. Interior: arched braces from jowled posts to tie beams, queen struts to collars clasping purlins. Attached to left end of original barn is a taller C18 or C19 5 bay barn. Central double doors. Inserted casements. Interior: straight braces from jowled posts to tie beams, central trusses have double purlins butted into principals, trenched purlins to outer trusses.
