House. Early-mid C18. Limestone rubble, ashlar dressings, graduated stone slate roof. Main range of 2 storeys and 3 bays, with rear 2-bay wing behind bays 1 and 2. Quoins. Central 6-panel door, the top 2 panels glazed, in an elaborate architrave composed of flanking pilasters with entablature and cornice, above this a panel flanked by 3 scrolls forming an apron to the central first floor window which has a slightly eared architrave. Sashes with glazing bars throughout, the flanking ground and first-floor windows in slightly projecting plain surrounds, all with projecting sills. Moulded stone gutter brackets, corniced end and ridge stacks of 4 flues to right, 2 flues to left and between bays 2 and 3. Rear: a 6-panel door to left of centre in a shouldered architrave with keystone. A blocked doorway to left with partly destroyed lintel which has the remains of a recessed plaque with the date "170_ " in relief. Fine stair-window first-floor, centre with interlaced glazing bars in an architrave with pilasters and alternate stressed voussoirs to round arch. Left return: sashes with glazing bars to left, ground and first floor, corbelled chimney stack. Rear wing: 2-panel door with tie-stone jambs: windows restored. Projecting 2-bay wing, east facade: remains of a blocked chamfered archway with inserted window to left; external steps right to board door with plain lintel. Interior not inspected at resurvey, but the house contains early panelled doors and shutters.
