5/26 Mount Pleasant Farmhouse
GV II
Farmhouse and attached cottage, now one house. Mid C18 with later alteration and extension. Coursed rubble limestone; pantile roof; rebuilt brick stacks. Originally centre staircase plan, 1 room deep, later extended into cottage to left. Rear 2-storey outshut added. 2-storey, 3-window front. C20 panelled double door to right of centre, under fanlight with radial glazing. Doorcase of open, dentilled pediment on fluted pilasters with frieze decorated with masks. 16-pane sashes, throughout, 1 at ground floor to right of door, 3 to left. 3 first floor windows. All windows have heavy milled lintels. Coped gables and shaped kneelers. 3 stacks, 1 at each end, 1 to left of centre. Interior: the C19 back staircase, is retained in addition to the main staircase. C18 raised and fielded panel doors with bolection moulding and original fittings to all ground floor rooms. Wall cupboards with panelled doors to both rooms on left, and the end room has an additional fitted panelled cupboard with carved harness pegs and racks. C18 shutters and panelling to ground floor front windows.
