Farmhouse, divided into two dwellings, now house. Late C17, remodelled c1840; restored late C20. Brick with ashlar dressings and shallow-pitched hipped slate roof. T-plan; main part of three bays aligned east/west with central chimney bay and brick ridge stack; cross-wing of two bays at east end with large external chimney to east side elevation. Three storeys and cellar; two-course band between ground and first floors; dentilled eaves cornice. South front elevation: windows have rusticated lintels with pro- jecting keyblocks and stone sills; ground and first floor windows are cross- casements; second floor windows are 2-light casements; two windows on each storey of main part and one window on each storey of projecting wing to right; in angle between wing and main part is a full-height porch addition with a round-headed archway and panelled door within. At the centre of the main part is a blocked doorway. Interior: main storeys have ogee-stop chamfered main ceiling beams; back-to-back fireplaces in main parts; open well staircase to rear right of main part with moulded handrail and turned balusters. Vaulted cellar. Two-storey C19 addition adjoining the west and the east side elevations. It is probable that the house was originally a lobby-entry plan. The house was being restored at the time of survey (April 1985).
