28.1.76 GV II

Row of three cottages, now two cottages. C17, restored mid-C20. Timber- framed, rendered infill, sandstone rubble plinth, brick replacement wall- ing and additions, plain tiled roof, large external brick stack with off- sets at front right and brick ridge stack at left side. Four framed bays; single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: three square panels from sill to wall-plate; short straight braces in upper corners, no trusses exposed externally, end gables replaced with brick. Front elevation: all doors and windows are mid-C20; ground floor has five rectangular casements, four gabled dormers with 2-light casements and two half-glazed doors. Interior: roof has single row of trenched purlins and intermediate collar- and-tie-beam trusses with queen struts. At rear left side cottage is a single storey and attic wing. On the left gable end wall a plaque records that the cottages were restored by the Hereford and Worcester Building Preservation Trust in 1977.
