29.7.77 - II
Farmhouse, now house. Early C17, restored mid-C20. Timber-framed, rendered infill on sandstone rubble plinth, brick replacement walling, plain tiled roofs, large external sandstone chimney at rear right, moulded at top with paired brick star-shaped shafts and combined cap; also group of four star- shaped stacks with combined cap to main ridge. L-plan; main range of roughly three framed bays with single bay wing and south projecting single baywing partially overlapping at south-east end. Two storeys. Framing: mainly four square panels from sill to wall-plate, short straight braces in upper corners and collar-and-tie-beam trusses with queen struts and V-strut in apex; right gable end of main part has diaper studs. Front elevation: main part has two 2-light casements and a paired 2-light and 3-light casement; first floor has three 3-light casements; main entrance adjacent to wing and has a moulded flat canopy of three shaped brackets, and a door with six raised and fielded panels; gable end of wing has a ground and first floor 3-light casement. Interior not inspected. A C20 hipped roofed, single storey and attic extension adjoins the left side elevation.
