Details

FARNDALE WEST DALESIDE ROAD SE 69 NE (west side, off) 4/55 Horn End House GV II House. Late C18; extended mid C19. Herringbone-tooled sandstone, with extensions in tooled sandstone; pantile roof with brick and stone stacks. Originally 2-cell, gable-entry plan, with later extensions to each side and to rear. 2-storey, 3-window front, with lower 2-storey, 3-window extension to left; low 2-storey, single-window extension set back to right. Half- glazed door to right of 3-window extension, which has 2-light small-pane casements with stone sills throughout. Tooled heavy lintels to all openings. Windows to main front are 12-pane sashes in plain raised surrounds. Console cornice. Coped gables and shaped kneelers. End stacks. Extension to right: 4-panel door beneath divided overlight, with 12-pane sash to right; squat 12-pane sash to first floor. Painted stone sills to windows and tooled lintels to all openings. Coped right gable and end right stack.
