Details
WHITSBURY SU 11 NW 5/14 Nippards, and railings in front II
Farmhouse. Late C18 and early C19, tablet WM, N, 1800. Painted brick, thatch roof, cast iron. 2 storey, 2 bay with added bay, from near each end brick wall runs forward to wall along road topped by cast iron railings. Front has added bay to RH. In centre 6-panel door with tall lights each side under hood on cast iron openwork brackets. Each side 16-pane sash under segmental arch. 1st floor raised band to older bays. On 1st floor wide 12-pane sashes. Roof hipped to RH. Stack on RH end wall and at LH end. Walls each end are 10m long, low IH wall with gate against house, high RH wall with door. Front wall has low brick plinth topped by cast iron coping holding ornate railing of top and bottom rail with arcading between having spearhead on top rail at top of each arch. Similar style central gate.
