TA 09 SW SCALBY SOUTH STREET (east side) 5/52 The Nag's Head Inn - (formerly listed as The Nag's 24.10.51 Head Pub with stable extension GV and attached pair of Cottages)
Public house. Early C19. Hammer-dressed sandstone. Slate roof. Square on plan. 2-storey, symmetrical 3-window front. -Central 4--panel- door with rectangular fanlight and pilastered doorcase with entablature and cornice. Sashes with glazing bars and plain milled lintels throughout. Projecting moulded eaves cornice. High Street front (to left) has 4 sashes with glazing bars over. 2 stacks rise through roof pitch. Hipped roof. The interior has been completely remodelled. The cart entrance on the High Street front gives access to the Inn yard, which was originally the village cattle market.
