TA 09 SW SCALBY SCALBY ROAD (east side) Newby 5/46 Newby Farmhouse - 25.4.75 GV II
House. Early C19, raised and extended to rear mid C19. Dark red Flemish bond brick on stone plinth. Slate roof. Stone coping and kneelers. Central staircase hall. 2-storey, symmetrical 3-window front. Stone steps to central 4-panel door with rectangular fanlight in plain doorcase. Sashes with glazing bars throughout, with ground floor windows taller than upper ones. All openings have channelled wedge lintels with keyblocks. String course at first floor level and dentilled eaves cornice. End stacks.
