QUAY3IDE 1. 1082 Ely Maltings (formerly listed as Malthouse) ) TL 5479 2/184 12,12,68. II GV 2. A fine example of a mid C19 maltings. A plaque in the gable at the east end bears the date 1868 and the initials EWH. It is built of local brick with red and white brick dressings and has a band of ornamental brickwork in a fret pattern between the 1st and 2nd storeys. A large pyramid east house rises at the west end. 3 storeys and attics. 13 window range (5 window range on the east end (C20) designed in original style). The ground storey has a wide stone segmental arched doorway at the east end of the north side. Roof slate, gabled at the east end, with shaped bargeboards and 6 gabled dormers, with shaped bargeboards. The malthouse was restored in 1971 and converted to use as a public hall.

Nos 54 to 64 (even), Ely Maltings, & No 68 (Malting Cottage) form a group with Nos 51 to 53 (consec), Malthouse adjoining No 53, Quay House, & No 55 and the house adjoining No 55 Waterside.
