REDDITCH B PAPER MILL DRIVE (west side) SP 0568 Church Hill 8/137 Barn and stable about 20.9.85 10 yards north of Papermill Farmhouse

Barn and stable. C17 with mid-C19 alterations. Timber-framed with brick infill and some weatherboarding; plain and machine-tiled roof. Four framed bays aligned north-west/south-east; wagon bay situated second from north- east end has opposed cart entries with double doors. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate, long straight braces in lower corners, collar and tie-beam trusses with struts. Diaper ventilation patterns in south-east gable end. Interior: two intermediate tie-beam trusses with raking struts and two tiers of purlins. A C19 addition with a catslide roof adjoins the bay south-east of the wagon bay on the south-west side. Stable situated at north-west gable end; three framed bays aligned south-west/north-east. Two levels. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate and collar and tie-beam truss with struts. Brick replacement walling at gable ends. Loft door in north-east gable end. Interior: intermediate tie-beam trusses with raking struts.
