House, now ground-floor restaurant and shop. Early C18, C19 and C20. Brick skin over earlier timber-framed core, roofed with C20 flat tiles. Basic rectangular plan, formerly L-shape with C18 infilling and C19 and C20 rear additions. EXTERIOR: 2 storey and attic. Front, S elevation, ground floor completely replaced by C20 shop and restaurant. First floor, red brick, 5 bays, giant end pilasters with dark burnt brick centres and moulded capitals, stone capped; parapet and dentilled cornice. Somewhat irregular spacing of windows following timber framing underneath, windows segment headed with rubbed red brick voussoirs, sashes, C19, no glazing bars but horns. E end elevation, gable end of street range and extension to N. Brickwork of several phases. Pilaster of house front skewed away towards street, later brickwork matches skew suggesting underlying timber framing now clad principally in C19, contemporary with rear addition to N. This has first floor French window, each leaf with flush reeded panels and upper glazing with glazing bars, 1x3 panes, fan-light boarded over, beaded architrave, each side C19 segment headed sash window with glazing bars. Ground floor, C20 fixed window with one C20 top-opening casement window each side. Also, C20 2-light casement window in attic gable of principal range. Rear, N elevation. Principal range with stack off centre to E W cross-wing gable with minor stack on W side and first floor C20 3-light casement window in front (to N). Three 2-storey C19 extensions with hipped roofs, C20 roof tiles. W extension has first-floor C19 sash window with beaded frame, sashes have glazing bars, 5x4 panes, ground floor further flat roofed extension in rendered brick with C20 casement window. Central extension has first-floor C20 2-light, top opening casement window, ground floor further C20 flat roofed extension with 2 single light casement windows. E extension has first floor C20 plain door and two C20 single light top opening casements on ground floor. Narrow alleyway between W and central extensions to C20 rear door, with 4 recessed panels. In small C20 extension above, on first floor, louvred casement window under flat roof. INTERIOR: at rear, complete early C18 well staircase in extension to original house - shaped handrail, turned balusters, square newel posts with pyramidal caps.
