House, now a nursing home. Early C19. Yellow brick, hipped slate roofs. Principal rectangular block and smaller attached service blocks to NW end. EXTERIOR: 2 storey. NE front elevation, 5 bays with rendered stack off-centre to NW and central projecting stuccoed Tuscan portico with plain cornice, early C19 door with 2 reeded flush lower panels, upper glazing with reeded glazing bars, 3x3 panes. All windows sashes with glazing bars, 3x4 panes. 3 upper windows have louvred shutters and stuccoed reveals. Service block to NW of 2 bays, sash windows with glazing bars, ground floor, one 3x4 panes, one 4x4 panes, first floor, two 3x4 panes, second block set well back. SE garden elevation, 5 bays, sash windows with stuccoed reveals and sashes with glazing bars, all 3x4 panes. All ground-floor windows have shaped wooden blind boxes, all first floor windows have louvred shutters. SW rear elevation, somewhat irregular. Principal block of 3 bays, rendered stack on rear wall, off centre to SE. Ground floor, SE-NW, one original deep sash window with glazing bars, 3x4 panes, 2 altered windows, central one with head blocked and inserted 2-light casement with glazing bars, each casement 1x3 panes, window opening deepened for French window with glazing bars, each leaf, 1x3 panes, upper fanlight casement with glazing bars, 3x2 panes. First-floor sash windows have stuccoed reveals and glazing bars, 3x4 panes. 2 service units to NW in 2 phases, shown by straight joint. Irregular fenestration - segment headed windows, plain in first block, with glazing bars in second. C20 brick lean-to at NW end with 2-light casement window. NW end elevation. Earlier service block with later one projecting forward to SW. Earlier block ground floor C19 door with beaded flush panels and upper glazing - fanlight and 2 side windows, all under segment headed arch - second door adjacent - segment headed arch to fanlight, C20 door with 2 glazed panels. First-floor segment headed sash window with glazing bars, 5x4 panes. Fire-escape doorway, segment headed, C20 door with fanlight and glazed door panel. Second projecting block, ground floor, triple sash window, plain side lights, central sashes with glazing bars, 3x4 panes. First floor, segment headed sash window with glazing bars, 5x4 panes. C20 lean-to to SW has plain C20 door. INTERIOR: some Jacobean style panelling, re-set. Several original doors with reeding and corner rosettes. Stair well lit by oval lantern, geometric stair original, twisted balusters and mahogany handrail, brackets to treads.
