GV II*

House, now surgery. Early C19, with C13 element. Brick; Welsh slate roof, gabled to St Nicholas Street; brick end stack and 2 lateral stacks. EXTERIOR: front to St Nicholas Street: tall round-headed window with coloured leaded lights; to left, half-glazed 2-panel door with coloured overlight in panelled case under flat wood hood on consoles; to right, early C19, 6/6 sash; to left, house wall abutting City Wall. Wing to left. West front: stone basement abutting bastion, with dressed stone storeyband; central C20 oak door, flanked by C19 plain sashes under stone segmental arches; upper floor has casements with plain and leaded glazing. INTERIOR: C19 dogleg staircase with turned newels and balusters, and moulded rails. 2nd floor: 6-panel doors with debased entablatures; cornices; part-glazed 2-panel door; C19 fireplace. 1st floor: 2 corner fireplaces; Adamesque fireplace; picture rail; late C19 part-glazed door and overlight in pointed arch architrave; 5-panel door. Ground floor: panelled doors; C20 fireplace; picture rail. Basement: plank door; City Wall.
