House, now museum. Mid C19. Stucco; hipped Welsh slate roof; 2 stucco stacks with moulded caps. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, attic and cellar; 3-window range: 6/6 sashes, to centre in recessed bay; shouldered moulded architraves; sill bands; 4/4 sash; moulded and modillioned wood eaves; box dormer with 6/6 sash. Central entrance: porch, with 4-panel double doors and margin-glazed fanlight, under circular arch with drip course; band, cornice and parapet; to left, 6/6 sash in shouldered architrave, flanked by 4/4 sashes; to right, 6/6 sash and shouldered architrave, in advanced bay with canted returns. Right returned side: three 6/6 sashes with louvred shutters, shouldered architraves and sillband; returned eaves detail. Central French windows with overlight; flanked by 6/6 sashes with shutters; all with moulded architraves, under moulded, canopied flat hoods on scrolled consoles. Painted brick wing, advanced to left: three 6/6 sashes under cambered arches; moulded and bracketed eaves; 2 brick stacks with moulded caps; 4/4 and 6/6 sashes to ground floor. Left returned side has roof breaking forward over canted bay with 4/4: 6/6: 4/4 sashes. INTERIOR: open-well staircase with moulded stick balusters and rail; alcove to landing. 1st floor: ceiling cornices; 6-panel doors with architraves; architraves to windows; 3 wood fireplaces; 4-panel door; overlight. Ground floor: margin-glazed door to hall; ceiling cornices; fireplaces; 4-panel doors; 5-panel doors; architraves; plank door. Cellar: flagstone floors; brick-lined.
