Large house. Mid C19 with some C20 refurbishment. Red brick, leaded roofs, square plan with clasping corner turrets. 2 storey and basement supporting `piano nobile'. Front N elevation: symmetrical composition, 3 window range plus single range end turrets. Windows segment headed, principally sashes, 3x4 panes. Middle and upper brick bands, upper dentilled with castellated parapet and recessed panels over windows below. Turrets rise above central block to 3 storeys. Windows narrow segment headed sashes 2x4 panes. Ogival leaded cupolas to turrets. Doorway central in projecting castellated porch with diagonal buttresses approached by steps, door boarded and battened. To E end, 2-storeyed service block, ramped castellated parapet, boarded door with light approached by steps with adjacent casement window. Rear S and W side elevations similar to front. No doorways, basement windows top-hung casements 5x3 panes. S elevation has S end of service block on E side with C20 fully glazed door and side lights, in all 6x5 panes under segment head. E side elevation. Similar to rest but has service addition to 3 central bays with castellated parapet and low pitch leaded roof. Windows segment headed 5 to ground floor, 3 to first. Irregular spacing, sashes and casements with glazing bars. Large central rectangular stack rises over house with tall narrow stack in line over roof of service block. Upper windows to turrets round, fixed, with radial glazing bars. INTERIOR seen to have detail of the same style.
