Corner shop and other shop with accommodation above. 1881
inscription. Rusticated dressed granite piers to ground floor,
otherwise stucco on masonry with 1st-floor pilasters linked to
carved impost strings and paired moulded keyed hoods, panels
between windows, moulded 2nd-floor sill string and paired
moulded window hoods with keyblocks; hipped dry Delabole slate
roof with modillion eaves cornice; pierced crested clay ridge
tiles; brick stack at rear and 2 stuccoed stacks with moulded
entablature; cast-iron ogee gutters. L-shaped corner site plan
with splayed corner. Italianate style. 3 storeys; 1-window
range to Southgate Place; 4-window range to Exeter Street
return. Paired round arches over original 2-pane horned sashes
to upper floors, and concentric trefoils to corner and
quatrefoil with date. Ground floor has 2 probably original
double shop fronts with round-arched lights, intermediate
window and doorways, with original doors: 4-light corner shop
with doorway to splayed corner; house doorway on its left;
1-window bay between shops; 2-light shop front to Exeter
Street and carriage entrance on its right. Rear wing is
slate-hung and has tall early C19 round-headed stair sash and
12-pane sashes. INTERIOR not inspected.
