Shop, now bank. Mid C18, altered early C19. Plastered and colourwashed timber-frame. Slate roof. 3-storey gable end facing road. Ground floor consists of fine early C19 Neo-classical front. 3 pairs of engaged Roman Doric columns rise to entablature complete with triglyphs, metopes, guttae and cornice. C20 glass display window, C20 central door and C19 door to right with 2 vertical panels and plain overlight. Cast-iron grilles under display windows. First floor with three 2/2 early C20 sashes, the central one with an open pediment on consoles. The architrave with pargetting. Three 6/6 sashes to second floor below pediment with pendant arches to string course. Gabled roof. INTERIOR. Open-plan banking hall. (Double H: Stowmarket - A Book of Records: Stowmarket: 1983-: 23).
