Linked semi-detached houses. c.1840. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond, stucco, roofs of Welsh and artificial slate. Four storeys over basement, two-window range. The houses have porches set back to the side, that to nos 1 and 4 enlarged to three storeys, those to nos 2 and 3 single-storey and linked. Steps up to round-arched entrance flanked by pilasters with stepped capitals as on the Almeida Theatre (q.v.); the door surround has cornice, archivolt and fanlight, with decorative glazing to nos 1 and 4; the porch cornice has paired modillions and blocking course. Ground floor stuccoed with round-arched windows set in a recessed round-arched panel, the panel having continuous impost strings and archivolt; sashes with radial glazing bars to all but no. 1. All upper windows flat-arched, those to first floor of piano nobile proportions with stucco architrave and cornice, the inner ones having consoles, and all having cast-iron balconies; second-floor windows have stucco architraves; moulded eaves cornice and parapet with balustraded panels; two dormers to each house in mansard roof; stacks to party walls. Cast-iron area railings with spearhead and ball-and-disc finials.
