Farmhouse. c1740 remodelling or rebuilding of earlier house. Incised stucco on rubble to front, otherwise rubble; very steep, slightly sprocketed dry slate roof, plus outshut roof and parallel roof at rear, brick end stacks. Single-depth range with rear central stair projection extended with outshuts to either side linking the front range with C18 or earlier single-storey range at rear. 2 storeys; slightly asymmetrical 6-window range with central doorway. 3 late C19 twelve-pane hornless sashes, otherwise late C19 four-pane horned sashes or copies; mid/late C19 nine-pane and panelled door and half-column remains of original or early C19 porch; C20 hood on stanchions. INTERIOR: C18 features include moulded plaster ceiling cornices to entrance hall, chamber above and to parlour on right (coved to chamber, full entablature to parlour); arched cupboards flanking large parlour fireplace; similar arch to rear of entrance hall; dogleg staircase with stick balusters; slate-flagged floors to 4 ground-floor rooms; a 2-panel door and a double-planked door and original pegged roof trusses. Also some C19 features.
