House, originally part of the lower court of Vicars' Close. C14 with early C18 south facade. Timber frame with brick front with some dressed stone; tile roof with brick stacks. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Some stone to base. Entrance to right of centre up opposed stone steps with plain iron handrail has overlight to 4-panel door. Windows have small-paned cross-casements. Rear has brick underbuilding to close-studded 1st floor. Moulded bressumer and plain eaves. Entrance with wide-boarded door. Varied fenestration: 2-light pegged casement to ground floor; 1st floor has small leaded light between large leaded casements with iron opening lights in remains of oriels with moulded bases and projecting moulded sills. INTERIOR: recorded as having re-set C16 linenfold panelling. Originally faced north into lower court of the Vicars' Close, possibly a Canon's house, re-oriented to face south in early C18.
