House, C16 and early C19. Timber-framed with red Flemish-bond brick front and gabled clay plain tile roof continuous with No.12A (qv). 2 storeys with C20 rear extension. EXTERIOR: front has 3 flat-roofed dormers unequally spaced of a single light with cross glazing pattern. First floor has 2 slightly recessed double-hung sash windows with margin glazing and stone sills. Ground floor has 2 similar windows but with stone lintels on consoles. Off-centre door with moulded architrave and C20 pediment-like hood. Early C19 door with 7 panels, upper 2 glazed. INTERIOR: eastern half is single bay of timber-framing of mid to late C16 with large flat chamfered bridging joist and joists with upper haunching and soffit shoulders. Stair hole towards rear probably originally gained via arch-headed flank door of No.12A (qv). Partition of studs with stopped chamfers (reused) to left of front door with evidence for former rebated door opening adjoining rear wall. 2 late C16 moulded corbel brackets under spine beams one with 'waggon chamfering'. Western part and raising of structure of late C18 or early C19 with fully-framed purlin roof. Front room has segmented arched C18 niche adjoining fireplace with fluted pilasters and keystone (formerly one of pair). Simple corner cupboard on first floor.
