BELTON & MANTHORPE SK9239 MAIN STREET, Belton 1315-0/8/54 (South side (off)) Group of seven headstones 1 metre east of Church of St Peter and St Paul GV II

Group of 7 headstones in parallel rows. Early, mid and late C18. Limestone. Rear row, nearer the church, has to left an arch topped stone with cross bones to Thomas Tingle, 1703/04. To its right, 2 small segment arched stones, with scrollwork and illegible inscriptions. To right again, a larger segment headed stone with scrollwork and a round arched panel, with illegible inscription. Front row has to left a small stone with a broken segmental pediment and a skull, and to right, a segment headed stone with an ornament of leaves. To right, a much larger stone with shouldered arch top and incised urn, late C18. None of these has a legible date or inscription.
