II
Club, probably former public house. Late C18. Coursed squared
limestone rubble; stone slates on front slope of main range
and wing to right, concrete tiles on rear catslide roof of
main range and on rear slope of wing; rendered left- and
right-end stacks on main range. Main range with wing to right,
probably former outbuilding.
2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. First floor has two C19
two-light timber casements with glazing bars in plain reveals
with stone cills and deep rendered lintels; ground floor has
two similar C20 windows in similar reveals. 2 hipped dormers
with 2-light timber casements with glazing bars. Gabled
stone-slated porch to centre, probably C19, has half-glazed
C20 door in plain reveal with chamfered jambs, decorative
barge boards continued below eaves to sides of porch; simple
C19 iron railing curves back from each side of porch to front
wall of building. C20 hanging sign bracket to first floor
left.
Single-storey wing to right has two 9-pane fixed light windows
in plain reveals with stone cills; one C20 half-glazed door,
one blocked doorway. Wing has flush quoins to right angle.
INTERIOR not inspected; ground floor of main range, noted as
having been opened out, has two cross-axial chamfered beams
with diagonal cut stops.
