Shop with workshops over. Mid C16 with later alterations,
early C19 to front. Stucco to front, coursed limestone rubble
to rear; Welsh slate roof; no visible stack. 3-storey 3-window
range. First floor has three C19 2/2-pane sashes in moulded
architraves; second floor has three similar windows with tops
of architraves cut off by eaves; ground floor has late C19/C20
shopfront with large plate glass windows and glazed door in
surround of flanking pilaster strips with frieze and cornice
now boxed-out. Rusticated quoins to left and right angles to
first and second floor. C20 extension to rear quadruples floor
area of building. INTERIOR has mid C16 moulded cross beams to
ground floor indicating original, and surviving, undivided
room; staircase to first floor in C20 extension; first floor
room also undivided with two beams with unstopped chamfers and
similar girding beam to right side; winder staircase to second
floor workshop with C19/C20 roof structure visible over.
Internal access to No.6 Black Jack Street, also Wendovers (qv)
on ground, first and second floors.
